Naylors Court Dental Partners

What happens during my emergency dental appointment?

A dental emergency tends to happen at the worst possible moment—just before bed, before your dream vacation, or during a busy time at work.

At Naylors Court Dental Partners, we treat dental emergencies as soon as possible so that you can return to your life without pain and worry.

Dental emergencies can mean many things, including:

  • Toothache
  • Jaw pain
  • Jaw swelling
  • Injury to a tooth or restoration

If you have oral pain or a dental-related issue that is distracting or painful, we recommend contacting our dental office to schedule an emergency dental appointment in Pikesville.

The nature of your emergency dental appointment is based on your unique situation. If you have a root infection, we stabilize the tooth by removing the infection and closing with a temporary filling. Then we schedule a new appointment after healing is complete. During the follow-up, we place a tooth-colored filling or a dental crown to complete the treatment.

If you have an injury to your tooth or require an extraction, we can typically complete therapy during the initial emergency visit.

Your dentist will explain everything during your appointment, but our goal is always to ease pain and restore tooth health!

If you have tooth pain or other oral health complications, contact our dental office for further instructions.
